This is now Season 8 of the Sonepar NFL Survivor pool. Per usual, we’ll be running the pool on PoolHost. Here’s how it works. Last year’s Survivor champ, Michael S, took home a cool $510 for his efforts!

• $30 entry fee. Maximum of 2 entries per player.
• Pick 1 team to win each week from the slate of NFL games. If you win, you “survive” and pick next week. If you lose, you’re out. Point spreads are not taken into consideration – just pick a winner!
• You can only use a team once during the life of the pool (i.e. If you choose the Patriots in Week 1 you cannot use them again for the rest of the season).
• If the game you picked should end in a tie that counts as a loss and you are out.
• Your picks must be in by Sunday by 1PM EST. Picks for all players for the week will be displayed on the webpage after the Sunday games start.
• If there is a Thursday night or Saturday game and you want to use a team playing in that game your pick must be submitted before kick-off otherwise that game will lock out and you will need to pick a team from the remainder of the games that week prior to game start time or the Sunday 1PM EST deadline.
• If you forget to submit a team or miss the week’s deadline, you’re out.
• The website is designed to not allow you to pick the same team 2 times over the course of a season. However, it is ultimately your responsibility to track this and if the same team is picked 2 times, it will count as a loss and you’re out.
• If there is a tie at the end of the season or the last remaining players lose on the same week then the pot will be split between them.

Welcome back, this is Season 14 for the pool!  Take a needed break each week and enjoy some NFL football for a few hours on Sunday. So many storylines to make this an interesting NFL season – What the heck was Brady doing during preseason, will young QBs Tua, Lance, Mac Jones, Jalen Hurts take the next step, does CMC come back all the way? For any newcomers, the rules are simple!

$50 entry fee with all of it going back to the prize pool – less than $3 for each week of the season. Each week you will pick a winner for each of the games on the schedule. I’m offloading the bulk of the work to an external website so you’ll make your weekly picks at PoolHost. Plus side is no more late pick sheets managed by myself, view your own and others’ picks during Sunday’s games, and some added features like ‘rolling deadline’ which will be explained.

The weekly pick sheet & past week’s results should be available every Tuesday. Picks can be submitted anytime from Tuesday right up to kickoff on Sunday. The picksheet will close electronically at kickoff (1PM EST on Sundays) so don’t be late. With PoolHost managing the pool, we can now have a rolling deadline. This means we will have a custom deadline of Sunday at 1PM EST regardless of there being a game earlier in the week. Sunday at 1PM EST will be the master deadline by which ALL picks must be in. Users must make picks for games that are earlier than the master deadline (i.e weekly Thursday game) but before their scheduled kick-offs. Once a game kicks off, it is locked and can no longer be picked and you will receive a zero for that game.

Picksheets not submitted by Sunday 1PM EST cutoff will be given a ZERO for the week.

We are picking vs the Vegas spread – NOT straight up winners/losers.

Each week’s winner will score the weekly prize which will be determined by the total number of participants. Also, your weekly score will be added to your cumulative 17 week score for the BIG year end prizes. Usually top 3 will cash, but prizes to be determined once number of participants is finalized – check back for updates.

Ok, another exciting season has come to an end and our pool winners have been decided.  Congratulations to Steve D who finished 1st with an impressive 53.41% pick rate and earned himself a $412 payday.  Also, Chris W, Mostafa B, and Shane O finished 2nd through 4th respectively. Check out the final standings and payouts below.

Should be a great game with Peyton Manning and the Broncos’ top ranked offense vs Richard Sherman and the Seahawks’ top ranked defense. Vegas opened the Broncos as 1 point favorites but the line has moved into the 2.5 point range. O/U is at 47 points.

Congrats to all those that took home the money! Peron was a frontrunner and led the whole year – didn’t win much weekly money but was amazingly consistent and easily took 1st place by picking at an outstanding 60% success rate. I guess Kirk has passed on his magical spreadsheets to Peron. Some drama in Week 17 as Elizabeth passed Keith for 2nd place, and Jessica stormed past Chris into 4th place.

The pool has been running since 2004 so hopefully you know the drill by now. For any newcomers, the rules are simple!

If you’re quick it can be completed each week in about 2 minutes so no excuses about “not having the time”.

If you choose the favorite (GREEN BAY), then they must beat the underdog (Pittsburgh) by 6 or more points to be considered the “winner”. If Pittsburgh should either win straight up, or lose by any amount less than 6 points, then Pittsburgh would be considered the “winner”. Got it??
